Trail of Tears show

The 37th Annual Trail of Tears Art Show opens May 3. This prestigious show, hosted by the Cherokee Heritage Center in Park Hill, attracts artists from around the country. The juried show awards more than $10,000 in prize money, including $1,500 for the Grand Prize. The public attending the show can vote for the “People’s Choice” award.

Show categories include painting, sculpture, pottery, basketry, miniature and the “Trail of Tears” theme. All artwork is for sale to benefit the Heritage Center. The show continues through May 26. For more information, call 918-456-6007, 888-999-6007 or visit www.CherokeeHeritage.org

Steam and gas

The Oklahoma Steam Threshing & Gas Engine Association will hold its annual show in Pawnee May 2-4. Visitors will be able to view hundreds of “antique power exhibits,” including wheat threshing and steam engine incline demonstrations, and an operating line shaft machine shop.

The Steam & Gas Engine Show will also feature antique cars, an antique plane flyover, flea market, quilt exhibit, and arts, crafts and toy show, with music from The Zoograss Boys.
